Mosaics
Due to scattered surveys it is only known that
these mosaics were discovered in 1899 in an "intra-walls" location.
Consequently, it was not possible to put them back in the proper context.
The first one represents the Minotaur - a hybrid monster of man and
bull - imprisioned in the centre of the fortress where the monarch
ordered to lock him up.
The second offers a geometrical composition, showing several symbolic
motifs: cantharus, simpulum, tetrascil, pelta, bepene, and a six-leafed
rosette.
