The remains of the residence that pre-existed
to the paleo-Christian basilica of Conimbriga, denominated "house of Tancinus"
in accordance with the small memorial stone found in the walls of this,
its composed with a plan that allows to reconstitute a residence of medium
dimensions (830 m2) characterized by a small central peristyle, entering
through fauces, surrounded by several compartments (one of the which
centered with the entrance, but whose reduced dimensions do not authorize
to see there a triclinium), and a wide space to East, whose use is not possible
to identify. To the West, to both sides of the entrance, two spaces (that
later came to the basilica of the catechumen) should be interpreted as independent
stores.
